Which artists do you wish would come out of hiding?
Seen on Afrobella
You guys have probably seen Adrienne on the site before. She started as an intern and very shortly after started assisting mom and I in the office on a more permanent basis. Adrienne has since moved on to bigger and better work within NYC’s Education System, but in her time at Monif C. she fell in LOVE with the convertible dress. She’s actually a little obsessed…her words, not mine.
She texted me a few nights ago with the following words: “The Convertible Dress Saved My Life”. Apparently she went to an event were she had wrapped the convertible dress kinda sexyified and when she got there, decided it might be a better idea to look more conservative. So you know what she did? Simply went into the bathroom and re-wrapped the dress! LOL
Adrienne sent me random pics of her wearing the convertible dress at that event and many others, and I am officially dubbing her “The Convertible Dress All-Star”. According to her, she has about 10 different ones at this time that she wears for work and play, and is eagerly awaiting Spring to see the new colors. I love how she doesn’t save her convertibles for special occasions but works it into her everyday wardrobe. If anyone can beat her (and I think there may be one or two of you), send me your pics, would love to post them.
And here are some pics of other customers who also emailed us their convertible dress pics, keep the pics coming!
Sorry for the lapse on blog posts, been doing marathon styling sessions with Brandon and then photo shoots all weekend to prepare for the Spring/Summer releases. Wait to you guys see the hot grease we’ve got cooked up for this season, I’m so excited!
Haiti Relief Efforts:
Hey everyone, our USPS carrier came by just minutes ago with information on how those who want to help in Haiti can help. His name is Peter and he Haitian himself and a member of the Premiere Eglise Baptiste Haitienne de Manhattan Church at 315 W. 141th Street, New York, NY 10030 212.491.3850. The church is having a 3 day relief effort to send items directly to a church they work with in Haiti. I wanted to work with him because I know they will be shipping the items directly down to Haiti AND they are doing a mission to Haiti at the end of February (which was actually preplanned before the earthquake) and will take more things with them then.
They are asking for medical supplies and money. The medical supplies can be bandages, gauze, Aspirin, Tylenol, Rubbing Alcohol, Hydrogen Peroxide. He didn’t give me any other specifics other than those items, but I am sure if you go to a Walmart, Target, Supermarket, or medical supply you may think of other things to send. And of course money.
If you want to donate, you can bring medical supplies to the Monif C. Plus Sizes boutique 325 W. 38th Street, Suite 1007, New York, NY 10018 (212.842.1641)tomorrow January 15th from 11am – 5pm, Saturday Jan. 16th from 12pm – 5pm. We will probably take another collection when they go to their February mission, but for now we are trying to rush medical supplies for this weekend’s relief efforts.
I would prefer not to handle anyone’s money, so call the church if you would like to send money 212.491.3850.
